Udhayanidhi Stalin is pairing up with the comeback queen Nayanthara for his second film as a hero. He portrays the role of a guy named Kathirvelan in Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal and Nayanthara plays Pavithra, his love interest.

In a recent interview the chief of Red Giant Movies opened up that the friendship between him and Nayanthara goes back to Aadhavan time. He claims that he had approached her for Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, but the actress wanted a break from films back then. Later Hansika was picked.
