The Yennai Arindhaal teaser storm is approaching, Yennai Arindhaal, Thala Ajith

THE YENNAI ARINDHAAL TEASER STORM IS APPROACHING

The long awaited teaser of the Ajith - Gautham Menon project, Yennai Arindhaal is set for release on the 4th of December at 12 am, in some hours from now. The midnight oil is set to be burned for this much-expected delight. Sony Music South have acquired the music rights of the film and it is also expected that they would be uploading the teaser through their official YouTube channel, which is known to have a huge subscriber base. Ajith's humongous fan base are in a frenzied mode right now and they have been trending #YennaiArindhaalTeaserStormOnDec4 and other associated hashtags on top in Twitter, since yesterday.

The teaser is expected to clock millions of views and all eyes would be on how fast it can breach the million mark and more, as such milestones are in focus nowadays, since the emergence of the internet as a major marketing and promotional tool for movies.

In the recent past, biggies such as Kochadaiiyaan, VIP, Anjaan, Kaththi, Lingaa and 'I' have clocked major numbers in the YouTube space with their teasers and trailers, and analysts and fans would be keenly watching how Yennai Arindhaal matches up with these fellow biggies in terms of view count.

Coming to the expectations from the teaser from a content perspective, Ajith's various looks, styles would be in focus along with any punch line or signature dialog which the director may have planned. Harris' BGM would also be anticipated as his work in Gautham's previous 'police stories' such as Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu are revered till date.

Now in this feverish mood and hour, let's take a quick trip down memory lane to relive the teasers of Ajith's previous 4 films starting from ‘Thala 50’, Mankatha

Mankatha - With his back facing us, Ajith is shown to be assembling and readying his pistol, with a cup of hot coffee by his side. Western classical music on the violin, accompanies the visuals of Thala in his trademark shades. With bullets blazing all over, and after his cup is shot, Ajith springs to action. To a poser "Eh veliya vaa da, ennada vilayadra", Thala responds "Mankatha da" in his inimitable baritone. This teaser was, needless to say, a major crowd-puller in 2011 and fans even thronged theaters to just catch a glimpse of the man.

Billa 2 - With the captions "Every man has a past. Every don, a history", David Billa is introduced as a refugee turned gangster turned international don. The teaser of this Billa prequel was packed with action, style and was capped by the much-loved "En Vaazhkaila Ovvoru Naalum ..."  punch line. This teaser was a big sensation at the time of its release in 2012 and registered more than 2.9 million views.

Arrambam - The film was untitled back then and it was just being referred as 'Thala 53'. The teaser smartly addressed this trend with a little closing line "By the way project oda peru" and Ajith remarking casually "Title innum vekkala". Otherwise the teaser was all about Ajith, his action, style and screen presence. The closing "tik tok tok" was a throwback to Ajith's famous Vaali mannerism. 2.1 million plus views is the count this teaser managed.

Veeram - Arguably one among the most fiery and macho teasers in recent times, the "Radha Gaja" number introduced Thala getting ready to face a running pack of goons, on a railway station's platform. Ajith gradually emerges like a lion, in the foreground, in an epic close-up shot, tilting his head towards his left. This teaser was a major hit but fell short of 1 million views.

Coming back to Yennai Arindhaal's teaser, whether the standard Gautham touches, the heroines Trisha & Anushka, villain Arun Vijay and comedian Vivek are revealed in the teaser, or whether it would be all Thala Ajith-centric is something which we need to wait and watch out for. Just a few more hours to go for all the surprises to be unveiled!!!  Stay excited …
