In
a list of films that have been
making Madurai synonymous with
violence and goondas, here comes
another that has Madurai in
its name itself, Madurai Sambavam.
As the title suggests, it is
all about an incident that takes
place in Madurai. The story
and screenplay focus mostly
on ways of the dark world or
the underworld in and around
Madurai. Special attention has
been given to the lives of the
so called rowdies and dadas
of the place and all the aspects
of their personalities have
been highlighted, all in a racy
manner. Of course, the film
contains the regular ingredients
of commercial cinema, like the
punch dialogues, for which this
film has plenty of scope, not
to forget the fights.
True to its title the film has
been shot entirely in Madurai
and surrounding regions. Starring
Thoothukudi fame Harikumar and
Siva Manasula Sakthi fame Anuya,
Madurai Sambavam has been written
and directed by Eureka. Music
has been scored by John Peter.
