Following complaints from two writers, Amudha Thamizhnadan and Arnika, that Endhiran is a violation of their copyrights, the CB CID police have issued notice to director Shankar to appear before them and offer an explanation. Shankar has been summoned on Monday and Tuesday to counter the allegation.

It may be recalled that Shankar maintains that Endhiran is based on the book En Iniya Iyandhira by late writer Sujatha and had modified certain parts to suit the film.

Endhiran, which had Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai went on to become a mega grosser breaking all box office records and this allegation from Amudha Thamizhnadan and Arnika has raised many an eyebrow.
