About yourself

I was born and raised in Bhopal, MP. After finishing my undergrad I went to US to pursue further studies. I am a computer science major with Masters in Mathematics, and have worked 7 years as Actuary in major consulting films in New York.

You seem to be academic-centric. When and how did the film bug bite?

I always wanted to be an actor. While I was working, I thought it was a good time to take proper training for this passion and hence went to NYFA and started working in independent films in New York.

Entry into film world

I came to India in June 2012 and started working for Zanjeer in July.

Your modeling stints

I have not been a full-fledged model. I acted in a commercial for Hyundai Eon this year and couple of projects in USA

Working with Prakash Raj in Zanjeer

It was fun. He is a fabulous actor and is superb in improvising.

Did Prakash Raj give you any tips?

In my first scene with him, I was a bit nervous, so he just chatted with me and eased me down.

How do you find Indian film industry?

Its magical, I love it.

How do you manage Telugu and also Hindi?

Hindi is my first language. For Telugu lines, I would get them written in English and later I would write the meaning of each word and prepare. Now, I have got a better command on Telugu as well.

Why villain role?

I liked the character of “Bosco” in the film.

Have you seen the original Zanjeer?

Many times!

Did you have combination scenes with Priyanka Chopra?

Would you continue to act in villain roles? Or are you open to all kinds of roles?

I am open to all kind of rolls, including Villain roles.
