A 34-kg natural pearl has been reportedly discovered in Palawan, Philippines, which is claimed by local officials to be the world's largest pearl. It was originally discovered by a Filipino fisherman, who was unaware of the gem's value and kept it as "good luck charm". Currently, the world's biggest pearl is the Pearl of Lao Tzu, which weighs about 6.4 kg.
