A woman in China happened to evade a potential sex assault by saying that she is from Wuhan, the epicentre of the deadly Coronavirus and has been quarantined due to the same!
The incident is reported to have happened in Jingshan near Wuhan. The culprit, 25-year-old Xiao, broke into the woman’s house in a bid to rob and rape her. The victim, Yi, due to her quick thinking, pretended to cough and fended off Xiao by coming up with the above-mentioned story but not before Xiao robbed her off her cash.
Officers said that considering most people were wearing masks, it was a bit difficult to apprehend the suspect. Finally, Xiao himself turned himself in and has been detained.
Meanwhile, the death toll is China is reaching 500 and experts are saying that there won’t be a slowdown anytime soon.
United States President Donald Trump has pledged to work with China. “Protecting Americans’ health also means fighting infectious diseases. We are coordinating with the Chinese government and working closely together on the coronavirus outbreak in China. My administration will take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from this threat.”
11 cases have been confirmed in the United States whereas another set of evacuation of Americans from Wuhan also happened.
