The Chennai Metro will reportedly start charging residents in T Nagar according their usage. According to media reports, a meter to mark the water usage will be installed. An Automatic Meter Reading will be installed in the meters which will feed data to gateways directly. This technology is different from other metro cities as it cannot have human intervention. The process will soon be implemented in other parts of the city too, reported New Indian Express.
