Two girls on way to school kidnapped in Madurai, rescued

Two girls, daughter of a Madurai-based businessman, went missing on Thursday while they were on their way to school. The girls were reportedly studying in Class IV and Class V in a private school. The driver of the girls reportedly told the police that the girls were kidnapped by two men posing as traffic cops. However, police suspected the driver as there were contradictions in his narrations. Reports say, a complaint was registered with Teppakulam police and a special team was formed to undertake investigations. Later in the night at around 10.30pm, the girls were “rescued” by the police but they refused to reveal further information.
