SUJITH IS NOT THE FIRST CHILD; DETAILS OF OTHER CHILDREN WHO DIED OF BOREWELL ACCIDENTS LISTED

Sujith Wilson is not the first child whose life had been taken as prey by uncovered borewell. The state of Tamil Nadu had lost several other children of borewell accidents in the past 10 years. 

Based on the report by News 7, we have compiled a list of little children whose dreams were snubbed due to the carelessness of whomever it may concern.

February 22 2009: The 6-year-old boy Maayi lost his life after 30 minutes of the rescue operation in AandiPatti, Theni district

August 27 2009: Gopinath, a 3-year-old child lost his life in Thandaraampattu, Tiruvannamalai

September 8 2011: The kid Sudharsan fell into a 200 feet borewell in Kailasanathapuram, Nellai who later lost his life

October 1 2012: The 3-year-old kid Guna fell into a 50 feet borewell who was rescued safely later.

April 28 2013: Muthulakshmi from Karur was rescued after falling into a borewell. However, the 7-year-old girl passed away in the hospital.

September 28 2013: After 10 hours of the rescue operation, the 4-year-old girl Devi lost her life after failing to cope up with the treatment. The incident happened in Pulavanpaadi, Tiruvannamalai

April 5 2014: Madhumitha, a 3-year-old girl died after she was recovered and treated for several hours in Pallagaseri, Villupuram district.

April 14 2014: A 3-year-old boy Harsan fell into a borewell and was recovered safely after 6 six hours of the rescue operation in Kuthalaperi, Nellai.

April 15 2014: Only the body of a 1 and a half-year-old boy Sujith was recovered in Kidambaalayam, Tiruvannamalai district. Sujit fell into 160 feet borewell and got trapped in 45 feet. He could not be saved even after 24-hours of the rescue operation

April 13 2015: Tamil Arasan, a 2 and a half-year-old boy from Koorambaadi, Vellore fell into a 350 feet borewell. He was rescued later only to find him dead after treatment

September 23 2018: The 2-year-old girl Divyadharshini fell into an 18-feet borewell in Puthupalli, Nagapattinam. However, she was rescued safely later.

October 25 2019: Sujith Wilson, a 2-year-old kid fell into a 600 feet borewell in Nadukaatupaati Village, Trichy. After 88 hours of the intense rescue operation, only his body was recovered in decomposed state.
