COVID-19 IN TAMIL NADU TODAY: CHECK POSITIVE CASES, DEATHS AND RECOVERIES AS ON AUGUST 22   

Tamil Nadu on Saturday, August 22, reported 5,980 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 3,73,410.  

The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of August 22:

- Total number of active cases on date (including isolation) -   53,710.  

- Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date –  2,25,418 / 1,47,963 / 29.  

- Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities –139 (63 Govt + 76 Private) 

- Total Number of samples tested by RT-PCR till date  –  41,36,490.  

- Total number of samples tested today –  73,547.   

 - Total number of persons tested by RT-PCR till date –  39,95,513.  

- Total number of persons tested today – 71,679.  

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 3,13,280.   

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 5,603.  

- Total number of deaths today / till date - 80 (23 Private & 57 Govt) / total 6,420
