Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday said that Tamil Nadu has the highest number of organ transplants in any state across India. Reports say, Tamil Nadu had 5,933 organ transplants in the state, which were received from 1,056 donors. The Chief Minister Comprehensive Insurance Scheme reportedly covers up to Rs 35 lakh per patient to facilitate organ transplantation.
