Reportedly "Murpokku Samooga Needhi Peravai" in Kanchipuram will be inaugurating the statue of the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on August 30th. According to media reports, a PIL was filed in Madras High Court that a public offence was committed by the Kanchipuram municipality as they did not get prior permission to erect the statue. However, the petitioner submitted a proof of a news copy mentioning that the statue was implemented at the cost of government in Kanchipuram municipality.
