Tamil Nadu BJP leader H Raja in an interview to a local TV channel said, “It’s a shameful act of the movie makers to produce a movie like Padmavati. Historical movies should not be manipulative. Will anyone take a movie in which they portray Mumtaj and Chatrapathi Sivaji dancing together?”. The Bollywood movie Padmavati has been receiving criticisms from various political leaders and communities.
