President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday appointed Banwari Lal Purohit as the new Governor of Tamil Nadu. It is the first time that the state has got a full-time governor after K Rosaiah retired in August 2016. The President also appointed new governors for the states of Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh as well.
