FORMER CRICKETER MOHAMMAD KAIF POINTS OUT A BIG BLUNDER IN CSK TACTICS THIS SEASON!

Mohammad Kaif has accused the CSK team of making a mistake by not taking opener Devon Conway into the playing XI first.

The 55th league match of the IPL series was played at the Mumbai ground yesterday. The Chennai Super Kings team led by Dhoni and the Delhi Capitals team led by Rishabh Bandh clashed. Batting first, CSK scored 208 for 6 in 20 overs.

Top scorers were Devon Conway (87), Ruturaj Gaikwad (41) and Shivam Dube (32). Batting next, Delhi lost all their wickets for just 117 runs in 17.4 overs. CSK won by 91 runs.

Former India captain Mohammad Kaif has criticized CSK for not taking Devon Conway into the playing XI for the first few matches of the current IPL series. “Conway was dropped after just one failure. The way he has been batting, CSK would be regretting the mistake. They had a very good player in the squad but couldn’t utilize him properly, " he said.

“Conway is a class player. He has all kinds of strokes in his armory. He plays 360-angle shots, and the bowler doesn't know what kind of stroke he is going to play.” CSK are still mathematically alive in the playoff race and the team has managed to register a positive net run rate following their emphatic win against Delhi, which leave them at an advantage amongst other lower-placed sides.

Kaif also hailed the return of Dhoni as captain as an important reason behind the two wins in their last three games.

Jadeja captained the CSK team in the first 8 matches of the current IPL series. Chennai team led by him won only 2. And it was during this time that Devon Conway found no place in the Playing Eleven. Following this, Jadeja handed over the captaincy to Dhoni again. This was followed by Devon Conway getting a place in the Playing Eleven. He has scored 85*, 56, 87 in 3 recent CSK matches.
