Team India is all set to take on the 3-match ODI series after the thumping 5-0 victory in the New Zealand home grounds.
The BCCI has announced the squad for the ODIs which has Mayank Agarwal as the replacement for Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma has been dropped in the ODI series after he suffered calf-injury in the 5th T20.
"It is unfortunate that Rohit cannot be part of the ODI series, the impact he has had is there for everyone to see. We do not have any ODI tournaments to look up to, so it is ideal for him to get recovered," Kohli was quoted as saying to the reporters by TOI.
Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw who was banned for 8 months for doping violation has been included in both ODI and Test squads.
Reportedly Prithvi Shaw's excellent performance in the domestic cricket caught the attention of selectors. While addressing the reporters Kohli confirmed that Prithivi shaw will definitely start in the ODI and indicated the slot of KL Rahul.
"In ODI cricket, Prithvi is definitely going to start, KL will play in the middle-order. We want him to get accustomed to keep and play in the middle," said Kohli to the reporters.
The 3-match ODI series will begin on February 5 (Wednesday) at Hamilton and the 2-match Test series will start on February 21.
