"YOU BEAUTY UTHAPPA, YOU DESERVE TEN DOSAS"

Robin Uthappa has been a name that we have heard for a long time now. He made his one day debut for India in 2006 and has been in and out of the team playing his last game in 2015.

One of the Major highlights in Robin Uthappa's career was in the 6th ODI of the Natwest series in 2007 where he came in at no 7 and India were 5 down for 234 after 40.2 overs, chasing a massive total of 316. Uthappa scored 47 runs off 33 balls from there to take India to a thrilling victory.  We can still remember the moment where Ravi Shastri who was the commentator saying "You Beauty Uthappa, You Deserve Ten Dosas" after walking down the track in his usual styleand smashing the ball straight down the ground  beating mid off for 4!!!

Another memorable contribution came in the 2007 T20 world cup against Pakistan where he scored an important 50 when India was struggling at 39/4. India went on to win the game through the famous bowl out, where Uthappa was one of the bowlers to hit the stumps.

Coming to the IPL, he started off with the Mumbai Indians in 2008 where he did reasonably well for them.  However, his major breakthrough came in 2010 playing for the RCB where he scored 374 runs at a staggering strike rate of 171.55. That's the season that shooted up the stocks for Uthappa as he was seen as a dangerous batsman. Moving on to KKR in 2014, he went on to win the Orange cap, piling on 660 runs. The success in this season helped him get back into the Indian team in 2015. Since then he has been a very consistent performer for KKR and now has gone on to become the vice-captain of the side as well.

He has not been able to make it to the Indian team since 2015 and will be hoping for a prolific season in this years IPL to put himself back in the map. He has started off well scoring a good 67 of 50 balls against the Kings XI Punjab and will be hoping to replicate the 2014 performance and put his name up for selection once again.
