OFFICIAL EXPLANATION ON ASHWIN’S 9.1 CRORE WORTH BEFORE IPL 2020 AUCTION

Amidst hot IPL 2020 Auction season, the Chennai boy Ravichandran Ashwin was bought by Delhi Capitals for 1.5 crores from Kings XI Punjab. In addition to 1.5 crores DC also sold the local player Jagadeesh Suchith to buy Ashwin.

Earlier Punjab bought Ashwin for Rs 7.6 crores which will also be added to Rs 1.1 crore pay scale. Therefore, Ashwin's worth has become 9.1 crore already i.e even before the beginning of IPL 2020 auction.

It has to be mentioned that in 2020, all the IPL players will be  re-shuffled to be a part of new teams. Therefore, the sudden increase in Ashwin's worth has raised many eyebrows.

Later it was revealed that the major reason for Delhi's sudden decision to buy R Ashwin was the pitch of Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (Now Arun Jaitley Stadium). It is said that Delhi lacked experienced spinner to take the team forward to the next level. Therefore, it was the main reason for the team to buy Ashwin.

"Ashwin will add value to any team he plays for and he will definitely create an impact on Delhi's pitch," said Ricky Ponting, the coach of Delhi Capitals. Ashwin has played for CSK and RPS in his earlier editions before becoming the captain of KXIP.
