SOUTH AFRICAN LEGEND JONTY RHODES NAMES TWO CSK PLAYERS AMONG FAVOURITE FIELDERS

Jonty Rhodes can well be hailed as the godfather of fielding as far as Cricket is concerned. No one can that easily forget how he ‘scalped’ Pakistan’s Inzamam-ul-haq during the 1992 World Cup. Recently, during a Twitter interaction, a user asked Rhodes as to who’s your favourite fielder, to which he ended up naming several players - Herschelle Gibbs, Ricky Ponting, AB de Villiers, Martin Guptill, Kieron Pollard and CSK duo Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja.

Rhodes who had worked with Mumbai Indians extensively in the past would be working with Kings XI Punjab for the Indian Premier League – 2020.

Jonty played 52 Tests and 245 ODI games, in which he scored 2,532 and 5,935 runs. He took 139 international catches. He is at the second place in ‘fielders affected most run-outs in international cricket’ list.

In 297 matches, Jonty affected 68 run-outs. Former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting tops the list with 80 run-outs.
