Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli have never failed to create headlines. There were controversies surrounding them when they played against each other in the IPL. Citing his poor record as captain in the IPL, Gambhir thinks Kohli should feel lucky to be retained as captain.

Gautam Gambhir’s comments on Kohlis captaincy

Recently, Gambhir had featured on the Star Sports show ‘Game Plan’ discussing about RCB, where he made some criticizing remarks on Kohli’s captaincy. He said that there is a long way to go for Kohli as captain and added saying "I don't see him as a shrewd captain. I don't see him as a tactful captain. And he hasn't won the IPL. So ultimately, a captain is only as good as his record”. Pointing out the fact that Kohli hasn’t managed to win the IPL, Gambhir also feels Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni as better captains at this stage.

On the other hand, Ganguly has come in support of Kohli saying that he is a champion and is the right person to lead RCB.

Kohli will definitely feel the pressure of not winning the IPL and will be determined to turn it around this time.
