The Punjab and Haryana high courts have made it clear that any sexual act with a girl below the age of 16, even if consensual will be considered rape and the other partner in the act is a criminal. Justice Anitha Chaudhary passed these orders on March 30, dismissing a Gurgaon man’s appeal against raping a minor.
