A CBI probe was ordered by the Madras High court into the seizure of ₹570 crore in the Tirupur district during the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls in May. This comes after DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan alleged that the trucks, in which the money was being transported, had bogus registration numbers and that the cash was falsely claimed by the SBI.
