Dates of local body elections in Tamil Nadu has reportedly been announced by Tamil Nadu State Election Commissioner, P. Seetharaman, on Sunday. According to reports, the election dates are 17th and 19th of October and filing of nomination starts on Monday. The election date for Chennai is on 19th while the polling time would be from 7am to 5pm, on both the days. The Election Commissioner also announced the counting date, which is on October 21. 91,098 polling booths are to be set up all over the state and 5.8 crore voters are expected to poll their votes, Seetharaman said.
