A day after announcing that the domestic flights will resume operations of Monday, the Civil Aviation Ministry today, issued the guidelines for passengers and other stakeholders.

Further the Ministry has also added that the upper and lower limit on the air fares will be announced soon. It has also confirmed that the prices will be fixed taking the pandemic into consideration.  “On the day of commencement (May 25), limited operations (about one third) would be permitted”, the ministry said.

The general rule being, people who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus and those who reside at containment zones cannot travel. Further, Aarogya Setu app is mandatory for passengers. Passengers must wear masks and must report 2 hours prior to the airport. Also, pregnant women, elderly, and those with ailments must refrain from travelling.

The most important guidelines issued are as follows:

1. Social distancing must be followed and minimum touch.

2. Agreeing to the self-declaration form and also registering on Aarogya Setu.

3. Sticking to digital payments and using authorised cabs.

4. Limiting the number of baggage to 2, one check-in and one cabin bag.

5. Check-in through web

6. Passengers must download the baggage tag identification number, print it and also fix it on the bag. If printing is not possible, then passengers can also mention the PNR number on a piece of paper and tag it.

7. Within the airport, passengers must maintain social distancing and hygiene at all times.

8. Masks and other bio-hazardous waste must be disposed in a yellow-coloured bin only.

9. Flights will not provide food, newspapers, or magazines and passengers must not fall in line for using toilets.

10. Non-essential movements within the flights must be minimised.

11. Water bottles will be available on the seats or at the galley area.

12. Transit passengers will not be allowed to go out of the transit area.

13. Trolleys for baggage must be used sparingly.
