Shortly after the Supreme Court announced on Wednesday  that the CBI will be investigating Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case based on the case filed by the actor’s family in Bihar, Rhea Chakraborty released a statement responding to the judgment. The statement was passed through her lawyer Satish Maneshinde. The statement says that Rhea will be cooperating with CBI and will appear in front of the Enforcement Directorate during the investigation.

Here is the statement issued by Rhea’s lawyer:

The Hon’ble Supreme Court after examining the facts and circumstances of the case and the report of the Mumbai police has observed that it will be the desired justice as Rhea herself called for a CBI investigation. The Hon’ble Supreme Court also observed that due to the allegations made by the two states of political interference against each other, it would be in the interest of justice to hand over the case to the CBI.

Since the Court has Transferred the investigation to CBI invoking its powers under Article 142 of the Constitution of India, she will appear and face the investigation by the CBI as she has done earlier with the Mumbai Police and the Enforcement Directorate. Rhea maintains that the Truth will remain the same whichever agency investigates the case.

"No Interviews, please. The matter is still under investigation by CBI," Advocate Satish Maneshinde also appealed.

Rhea’s statement was unprecedented and contradicts her previous stance on the issue since initially she took it to twitter to request for a CBI probe. Once the family filed a complaint against her, the actor was urging the apex court to not hand over the case to CBI. However, her present stance is in line with her initial stance since she has mentioned in the statement that she will be cooperating with the CBI inquiry.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly died by suicide at his Bandra residence on June 14.
