MP CM'S NEPHEW SPENDS CRORES OF MONEY FOR ONE NIGHT AT CLUB; CASE FILED

Ratul Puri was already charged for the AugustaWestland chopper scam on August 20 and the recent report took his name to the next level of money laundering. Being the Nephew of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Ratul Puri had allegedly spent over $1.1 million (close to INR 8 Crore) in a single night at a US nightclub according to the charge sheet filed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case.

Reportedly, it was stated that Puri spent $11,43,980 in a single night at a club called Provocateur in the US. The charge sheet also included Ratul Puri's associates and Moser Bear India (Private) Limited (MBIL) where he was the executive director.

Further, Puri's total expenses between November 2011 and October 2016 were estimated to be $4.5 million and he had laundered close to Rs. 80000 crore in association with Moser Bear India (Private) limited and via the creation of "shell companies".

Over the years, MBIL has invested an amount of Rs 800,20,96,683 in its subsidiaries and associate companies", read one of the statements from the 110-page charge sheet filed in Delhi court on Thursday. Ratul puri is currently in judicial custody.
