MAN & MARRIED WOMAN BEATEN, GARLANDED WITH SHOES BY VILLAGERS: MAKE VIDEO VIRAL

In a sad and shocking case, a 12th standard boy and a married woman were allegedly thrashed, garlanded with shoes and paraded with blackened faces in Daniyalpur village of Karnal of Haryana.

This couple was thrashed over their reported illicit relationship. It is also alleged that some villagers shot a video of the incident.

As per ANI news agency, the village head (Sarpanch) along with locals and family members decided to throw the woman and the juvenile out of the village.

While speaking to ANI, Rajiv Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said that "the man (juvenile) will be given medical aid if needed and we'll try to provide him with all the possible help. If someone had any kind of problem-related to this matter, they should have approached the police."

"Stern action would be taken against the people who allegedly thrashed and garlanded the woman and juvenile," DSP added.

During investigation, the police found out that the woman is a native of Bihar but resides in this village. While the juvenile is studying in standard 12.

"Panchayat here held a meeting over this matter but I am unaware of the decision taken by them. They have been asked to leave the village. The woman is married and has kids. She belongs to the Banjara community while the man belongs to the Balmiki community," said former sarpanch of the village.

When media spoke to the father of the juvenile, he stated that the village head held a meeting and was against thrashing and garlanding the couple. But this drastic step was taken by the Banjara community people.

On a sad note, the juvenile's father further claimed that he had dropped his son at the bus station yesterday so that the couple leaves the village. He also alleged that they had shot the video of the incident.
