The Indo-Pak border, Kashmir has been on high alert with multiple speculations increasing day by day. A while ago, it was reported that 5 terrorists belonging to Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed have sneaked into Kashmir. Previously, an additional 25000 paramilitary troops were added to the already existing 10000 troops which have reportedly made the people in Kashmir realize that ‘something serious is going to happen’.

Kashmir on High Alert & Residents are scared at the valley

As per the News 18 report, there is an oscillating scenario at the valley that has made people buy their groceries and daily essentials in bulk anticipating a possible disrupt in law and order. When asked about the prevailing conditions in Kashmir, a top police official had reportedly told that “In a law and order situation, the small security pickets often become the target. This is being done in that context,”

On the other side, the recent activities of the centre reportedly hinted the removal of Articles 35 A and 370 in the state. The speculations regarding the scrapping of these two articles have intensified recently. Also, the former Chief Minister of J&K Mehbooba Mufti claimed the additional 10000 troops have created fear among the people.

While Article 35 A allows the residents of Jammu and Kashmir to enjoy “special status” by defining them as the “Permanent residents” of the state, Article 370 limits the Parliament's power to make laws concerning the state. It has to be mentioned that the constitutional validation of Article 35 A has already been challenged in the Supreme Court.

The latest report from Kashmir says that people who were set out for Amarnath Yathra was asked to leave the city immediately including the tourists. While the situation is getting critical at the border, further reports are awaited.
