Girl Made To Cook By Hostel Warden, Gets Severely Injured

The teenage girl, who was living in a government hostel for backward classes had been struggling to get the authorities to act in the matter.

According to NDTV reports, while expressing her ordeal the girl said the warden had told all students to take turns cooking. Later, the warden assured the girl that she would pay for her treatment.

Soon after this incident, the warden had also allegedly warned her against reporting the matter. Not just that, the school authorities allegedly refused to take action or do any kind of investigation in this matter.

The injured girl and her mother had also approached the district collector, Ranga Reddy, when he was on a visit to a local government office, but were turned away, NDTV further reported.

Currently, Child rights activist Achyutha Rao took notice of this matter and has complained to the state chief secretary. She has also called for the warden's suspension.
