As the spread of the novel coronavirus continues to steadily increase in the country, both the central and the state governments are trying to limit people’s movement outside. While in many villages and cities, people are continuing to disobey the norms of social distancing, local police officers are coming up with quirky ideas to ensure their safety.

\'Ghost\' out at Nights scare Odisha Villagers; Stay Indoors

In Chennai, a police officer was found wearing a “Corona Helmet” to warn people on the roads, of the deadly infection and to encourage them to stay indoors. Similarly, in Delhi the police officers recruited students to dress up as “Yamraj”, the God of Death to create awareness.

Now, a village in Odisha has a ghost that roams around the streets at night, warning people to stay indoors. The village’s Gram Panchayat hired someone to dress-up as a ghost, with chalk white skin and a black saree. This trick, has been working well as the Hindustan Times reported that the villagers screamed and retreated into their places of residence after one look at this scary ghost.

The total number of cases in India has crossed 67,000 and the number of deaths have crossed 2,000. The Prime Minister, along with the Chief Ministers of different states, are expected to announce the next set of measures and exit strategies. While the nation-wide lockdown is said to be eased a little, people might have to continue maintaining social distancing.
