Facebook helps reunite missing boy with family after eight years

The young lad is now 16-year-old and had been working for a landlord in Punjab.

According to The New Indian Express, in 2011, Susanna (mother) had filed a complaint to the Kushaiguda police, saying that her son Dinesh Jena had left home and did not return. The police then registered a missing case but the boy could not be traced.

Years later, in August 2018, some of Susanna’s relatives came across a Facebook profile of a person named Dinesh Jena Lima, and informed her about it. They also inquired about the picture on the profile which looked similar to her son. Immediately, Susanna approached the cybercrime wing and the case opened up again.

With the help of the Internet Protocol (IP) address and other details, officials of the cybercrime wing tracked Dinesh in Punjab’s Amritsar district. After days of inquire and completion of formalities, he was then brought back to Hyderabad by the police and handed over to his family.
