A day after violent protests over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 and 50 students of Jamia Millia Islamia getting detained has totally shocked the nation.

Delhi Jamia Student Protest, Student Breaks Down violence on CAA

The situation in the University is still tense, meanwhile a scared and worried woman student told media that she doesn't feel safe in the entire country.

While speaking to NDTV, the woman student from Jamia Millia Islamia University said that, "We thought Delhi is the safest place for students, and this is a central university. I thought the university is the safest place, nothing can happen to us. We cried all night. What is happening."

"I don't feel safe in this entire country. I don't know where I will go and get lynched. I don't know if tomorrow my friends will be Indians. I am not even Muslim. I'm still at the frontline from Day 1. Why? Because of what has happened to my family... What use is our education if we cannot stand by what is right," she further added.

This violent protest is not only in the capital but in several parts of India after the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill which was passed in the Parliament last week.

Amid this protest, the University has declared winter vacation from December 14 till January 5 and has even postponed the exams. Explaining about the protest, students on Sunday torched four public buses and two police vehicles near Jamia Millia Islamia. This protest left 60 people including students, cops and firefighters injured.

The Bill which is creating the uproar, has now become an Act after getting the President Ram Nath Kovind's nod to it.

According to NDTV reports, this Amendment bill will provide Indian nationality to Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains, and Buddhists fleeing persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
