A 11-month old baby drowned in a bucket full of water at Chalissery in Palakkad district. The toddler, Muhammed Nisan, was found dead in a bucket of water kept in the bathroom at their home in Saturday at around 10:00 pm.

As per media reports, the child fell face down into the bucket and was rushed to the hospital immediately but he was declared to be “brought dead.”

The family was put under COVID19 quarantine.

The couple was put under quarantine since the baby’s father, Muhammad Sadiq lived along with his brother who tested positive for COVID19. 

Police told the media that ''further actions will be taken only after the test result comes out. We have filed an unnatural death case on this.''

The body of the baby was shifted to Thrissur Medical College for COVID19 Testing.

Police also requested parents to be cautious and take precautionary measures while babies are playing inside the house.
