WATCH VIDEO: TRAFFIC POLICE GETS PRAISED FOR STANDING ON DUTY AMID STORM AND RAIN

In a moment of pride, a traffic cop from Assam's Guwahati city became a sensation on social media for his dedication to duty. He was seen standing and doing his duty with dedication amid a thunder shower that hit the city.

The traffic cop has been identified as, Mithun Das who without a raincoat controlled traffic amid heavy rainstorm in Guwahati.

On looking at his commitment, Assam Police took to Twitter and applauded the cop stating that, ‘Dedication is thy name! We salute AB Constable Mithun Das (Basistha PS) of @GuwahatiPol, for his exceptional devotion towards duty and showing us how dedication can turn a storm into a sprinkle. Kudos!’  

It just did not end there, Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Kuladhar Saikia also hailed the cop with words of appreciation.

"The visuals of the traffic Constable Mithun Das (Basistha PS) are truly inspirational. I personally talked to him and conveyed my appreciations. I also hail all the @assampolice Personnel like him, who stand against such adversities everyday, without being recorded, he wrote.

Mithun Das had joined the Assam police in 2015. He has been posted to Basistha police station since 2017.

Further lauding the traffic police for his commitment, people on Twitter praised his for his effort and called him 'Superman of Assam'.
