The Haryana government on Tuesday announced the decision to rename the city Gurgaon as Gurugram. The name Gurugram comes from the Bhagavad Gita in which the village was given as “gurudakshina” to Guru Dronacharya by his students, the Pandavas and Kauravas, said an official. The decision to rename the city was taken after the locals demanded that the name be changed.
