The national dish of Britain was announced as Chicken Tikka Masala by the country's Foreign Secretary Robin Cook in 2001. The dish, which consists of roasted chunks of chicken in a spicy, creamy sauce, is one of the most popular dishes in Britain. Glasgow, where the dish was invented, is currently seeking legal recognition as the home of the dish.
