NETFLIX TESTS MULTI-MONTH SUBSCRIPTION PLANS AT UP TO 50% DISCOUNT IN INDIA!

Netflix Inc is testing multi-month subscription plans in India at cheaper rates to attract more users. Reuters reports that new users of Netflix in India may have the option to choose from 3, 6 and 12-month plans at discounts of up to 50 per cent.

The report further said that the trail 3-month plan will come with a 20 per cent discount to original prices while users can get a 30 per cent discount on 6-month plan.

“We believe that our members may value the flexibility that comes from being able to pay for a few months at once. As always, this is a test and we will only introduce it more broadly if people find it useful,” a spokeswoman from Netflix India was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Speaking at a media conference in New Delhi, Netflix Chief Executive Officer Reed Hastings said the company was spending about $420 million on content for India. He also said that the company's first animated series from India, "Mighty Little Bheem," had been watched by 27 million households worldwide.
