Anugraheethan Antony is a fantasy drama, written by Naveen T Manilal and directed by Prince Joy. The film stars Sunny Wayne and Gouri G Kishan in the lead roles. The film also has Siddique, Indrans, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Shine Tom Chacko, and Manikandan in prominent supporting roles. 

Anugraheethan Antony is a heartwarming tale of Antony (Sunny Wayne), a carefree village guy, loved by everyone. Though he has some trivial issues with his father, he loves his family and friends and has a winsome persona. With life going on without any major complaints, he falls in love with Sanjana, who works in a mill with her father. With everything going good, life takes an uncanny turn, changing Antony’s life forever. 

Though the film carries a sweet ambience throughout, the pace of the script makes it a tedious watch, at times. It has some good moments which the audience can cherish with Sunny Wayne’s endearing performance, but at times, the film goes off track, making the plot monotonous.   

The performances and the cast, the characterization of everyone is among the highlights of the film. Everyone, including the pets in the film, has been sketched perfectly for the roles. Sunny Wayne’s appeal and character presentation are delightful. Gouri G Kishan is perfectly cast as Sanjana. Siddique as Antony’s father does an amazing job. The entire cast scores brownie points. 

Naveen T Manilal’s script doesn’t live up to the expectations. The film has a promising premise, with a fresh concept, but the writing disappoints. Though it has some lovely moments to keep the audience in their seats, the treatment of the film could have been better, with more emotions included, rather than completely focusing on a comic/dramatic side of things. 

The cinematography by Selvakumar S is impressive, the film has some beautiful frames and eye-candy visuals. The song sequences and the night sequences have come out well. 

Music by Arun Muraleedharan, especially ‘Mulle Mulle’, which was a sensation among the people days before itself, is stupendous. The music and BGMs have life, letting the audience experience the feel of it. The background score is soothing and pleasant enough to lift the audience’s emotions.   

Directed by Prince Joy, the film is successfully lifted on the grounds of adorable nature, but the slow pace of the movie makes it less engaging. The climax of the film is uplifting, able to create an emotional connection. Being a debut director, Prince Joy has helmed the film fine, though many ameliorations could have made the outing better.
