Inam (aka) Ceylon release expectation

After a critically well acclaimed, star studded Urumi, Padma Shri Santosh Sivan is ready with a more intense movie, Inam that features a bunch of new talents. Here’s what the cinematographer / director has to say about the movie.
“I had dinner with my friend and his family one day. His wife was a Sri Lankan. She told me her family runs an orphanage in Sri Lanka and she had brought a refugee, a young girl here. The girl had a lot of stories to tell. More than her words, her eyes had bigger stories to tell. That was the birth of Inam.”
“During the ethnic war, the number of orphans grew geometrically in Sri Lanka and how all the orphans become a family is the central theme of this movie. Most part of the film happens at an orphanage.”
“Saritha plays Tsunami Akka. She runs the orphanage. Karunas is a teacher, who wishes the best for all his students. There are also a bunch of teenagers playing central roles in the movie and Inam traces their lives, emotions and reactions to the ethnic war.”
“Not all Sri Lankan based war stories have the same kind of content. There’s a third dimension to every war story that hasn’t been explored much. Inam will show the well known issue from a different vantage point.”
“When there’s a catastrophe or a terror strike up west, we react to it. But we turn blind when the same happens to people near us. It is our duty to tell the story of the affected and make people aware of the lives of our neighbors.”
“While making a movie on a very sensitive subject, we must make sure that we remain neutral. Inam is built on strong facts and we have made it in a way that it wouldn’t hurt anyone. We brought on board the victims and journalists who spent their lives during the events and built the film based on the details they provided.”
“Composer Vishal C was a revelation. After looking at his work, Lingusamy’s first reaction was, “Where was this guy for so long?” He has done a brilliant job”
“Thirrupathi Brothers’ association came at the right time and has given a whole new perspective for Inam. Their motto is to promote good films and I’m happy to be joining hands with them.”
