The stage was set for young filmmaker Bala Aran whose short film Mullil Nizhalum Kuthitru was being screened before a gathering of renowned filmmakers and industry personnel. The esteemed guests present at the event included directors Vikraman, Thangasamy, Subramania Siva and Keera. The other celebrities who graced the occasion were heroes Shaam and Sibiraj. Muthusamy, director of the highly proclaimed Koothu-P-Pattarai too was amongst the guests.

Following the screening of the 20 minute film there was a press meet held for the filmmaker to interact with the media and also for the chief guests to share their views and opinions on the film. Director Vikraman was all praise for Bala Aran and said that he was eager to watch this film from the moment he saw the invitation and also largely due to the film’s title. He believed that Bala Aran would be another addition to the trend of short film makers tasting success in the bigger format just as the likes of Karthik Subbaraj and Nalan Kumarasamy did. He was particularly appreciative of the cinematography, music and editing and said these departments had executed their responsibilities perfectly.

Actor Sibiraj was one among the host of people who were impressed with the film and hoped that Bala Aran would turn into another Bala for the industry. Director Thangasamy wished that the film would reach a larger audience and urged the director to take steps to make it for a bigger screen. The reviews and feedback for the film were overwhelmingly positive and everyone lauded the effort of Bala Aran.
