Udhayanidhi Stalin who debuted his acting career through Rajesh's Oru Kal Oru Kannadi in 2012, is the son of the current Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's leader M.K. Stalin. Apart from being a successful actor and producer, Udhayanidhi has been actively involved in politics which runs in his family.
Udhayanidhi Stalin was recently appointed as the secretary of DMK's Youth Wing which was formed by his father years ago. M.K. Stalin was the secretary of the wing for over 30 years and after becoming the leader of the party, his long held secretary position was taken over by Vellakovil Swaminathan, who recently resigned his post.
Udhayanidhi, after receiving this position yesterday (4th July), tweeted some pictures from the ceremony along with his father where he expressed his gratitude towards the leader (Stalin) and the General Secretary of the party for trusting him with this position.

He later tweeted "The base of an organisation is it's youth. I will perform my duty of bringing that power together with responsibility and determination. I realize this not a position, but a responsibility, through right actions, i will work towards the party's principles and it's victory." taking a pledge for all his followers in social platforms to witness.
