Kalavani is a 2010 comedy film which had Vemal and Oviya inlead roles while the supporting cast includes Saranya Ponvannan, Ilavarasu, Soori and Ganja Karuppu. The film went on to be commercially and critically successful and was praised for its nativity and free-flowing humour.
The film was written and directed by Sarkunam. Now, the filmmaker will also be helming the sequel to this film. Titled Kalavani-2, the film will also see Vemal and Oviya reprising their roles from the prequel. The makers have announced that the film will be releasing on 28th of June.
The film is produced by the director A. Sarkunam under the banner Varmans Productions. Apart from the leads, the film also stars Saranya Ponvannan and RJ Vigneshkanth in supporting roles. The film has music jointly composed by Mani Amudhavan, V2, V. Ronald Reagan and background score by Natarajan.
