SURIYA'S NOBLE DEED TO HELP THE HOMELESS WINS HEARTS - HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED!

Chennai Metropolitan Police has started a movement called 'Kaval Karangal'. On behalf of this movement, many charities are working together to identify and rescue the poor, destitute, the mentally ill and the sick living along the roadside.

They are also service-minded in finding and caring for dead bodies on the side of the road to nursing homes, orphanages, and funerals.

Surya's own film company 2D Entertainment has donated a vehicle worth Rs 6 lakh for their needs.

This vehicle will be used to provide food for them. The vehicle was flagged off by Chennai Municipal Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal IPS and Dr. Saranya Rajasekar at an event held today.

Sociologists and social activists heartily commend actor Surya for his service in realizing the educational dream of economically backward students and for identifying and fulfilling the needs of voluntary charities for the street and homeless.

The 8th Behindwoods Gold Medals Awards will be held this year on May 15 and 22 at the Island Grounds in Chennai from 6pm to 11.30pm. Ticket booking for this is currently underway.
