“UNDER MY DIRECTION, THIS IS THE SECOND NATIONAL AWARD”

Lyricist Kavi Perarasu Vairamuthu won the Best Lyricist Award for his lines Endha Pakkam from the film Dharmadurai which is directed by Seenu Ramasamy. In fact, this is the 7th time, the prolific lyricist is getting the National Award.

Director Seenu Ramasamy shares his thoughts with us, “This is the 7th National Award for Vairamuthu. It makes me a lot happier. This is the success and recognition for the Yuvan Shankar Raja- Vairamuthu combo. People gave phenomenal thumbs up for Dharmadurai and consider it as theirs; this is the respect for those people. Under my direction, this is the second National Award that Vairamuthu is getting, the earlier one was for Then Merku Paruvakaatru. This makes me doubly happy”.
