RIP: DIRECTOR RAJIV MENON'S MOTHER PASSES AWAY; CONDOLENCES POUR IN!
Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsPopular Filmmaker Rajiv Menon's mother Kalyani Menon passed away at a private hospital in Chennai due to age-related ailments. She was 80.
A noted Singer, Kalyani Menon has sung several famous songs in the nineties and early 2000s under the direction of AR Rahman. She was a regular presence in South Indian movies, including Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
Some of her popular songs include 'Indiraiyo Ival Sundariyo' from 'Kadhalan' (1994); 'Kuluvalile' from 'Muthu' (1995), 'Alaipayuthey' from the same movie (2000) and 'Omana Penne' from 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa' (2010).
Apart from Rajiv Menon, she is survived by another son Karunakaran Menon. Her last rites are scheduled to be held tomorrow at 2 pm at Chennai's Besant Nagar.
