Superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s big-budget Shankar film is to release in April 2018. Lyca Productions have confirmed this through their press note and the movie that has music by AR Rahman has Amy Jackson playing the female lead.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0, directed by Shankar, which was supposed to release for Diwali this year, has been postponed. The new release date is confirmed to be January 25th 2018. Raju Mahalingam of Lyca productions confirmed this news through his Twitter handle.
Raju Mahalingam’s Twitter said, “Our most ambitious project, Shankar's 2.0,shifts to 25Jan2018.It moves from earlier Diwali release to achieve world class standards in VFX.”
