Actress Oviya gets nostalgic while speaking about her experience of reprising the female lead in, Kalavani-2, the sequel to 2010 sleeper hit Kalavani. Kalavani-2 stars Vemal playing the male lead while RJ Vigneshkanth, Saranya Ponvannan and Ilavarasu play supporting roles
The actress revealed that it was Kalavani's director, A. Sarkunam, who gave her the screen name Oviya, which is now a much familiar one amongst her fans and the people of Tamil Nadu. Oviya became popular for her stint in the first season of Bigg Boss Tamil, which was hosted by Kamal Haasan.
She had also jovially mentioned that it was Saranya Ponvannan and Ilavarasu's chemistry that has worked better than that of hers with the film's lead actor Vemal.
Oviya was last seen playing the lead in the Anita Udeep-directed 90mL, which earned mixed reviews from critics and audiences. On the technical front, Kalavani-2 is shot by Masani and edited by Raja Mohammed. The film is produced by A. Sarkunam and distributed by Screen Scene Media Entertainment.
