The filmmaker has headed to Bollywood for his next film. His Hindi directorial debut is titled 'Shershaah' and the film is based on the life of Kargil war-hero Vikram Batra. The film stars actors Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in lead roles.

The film will be produced by A-list Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner Dharma Productions, along with Shabbir Boxwala, Himanshu Gandhi and Ajay Shah. Vishnu Varadhan was last seen directing the Tamil action film 'Yatchan', that starred Arya, Kreshna, Swathi Reddy and Deepa Sannidhi in lead roles
