Actor Dhanush was last seen in the film Maari 2, directed by Balaji Mohan, and produced by Dhanush himself under the banner Wunderbar Films. It has Sai Pallavi as the female lead, while Krishna, Robo Shankar, and others played crucial supporting roles.
He is currently acting in Vetri Maaran's Asuran, that has Manju Warrier as the female lead. This project has GV Prakash as the music composer. Simultaneously, he's also working on his second directorial project, bankrolled by Thenandal Studios Limited.
Rumours were afloat on social media that the film has been dropped. When we tried in getting in touch with the production team, they denied it. PRO Vijay Murali said "The news that the film has been dropped is absolutely false. We kindly request not to believe them."
The film has music by Sean Roldan, who was also the music director of Dhanush's first directorial, Pa Paandi. Aditi Rao Hydari, Srikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, SJ Suryah, Sarathkumar form the rest of the starcast. The project has been tentatively titled DD2.
